Dead Ringer: Classic Rock Aged to Perfection

Paul Miller

Paul Miller - Bass

Paul Miller - when you say Miller, you say bass. Mr. Miller lays down a solid bass guitar and covers a good share of the lead vocals for Dead Ringer. Thanks to the influence of his older brothers, Paul was exposed at an early age to all of the popular music at the time. That time just happened to be the era of classic rock, with influences coming from the Beatles, The Guess Who, Santana, the Moody Blues, Styx, America and many more. Later he developed a fondness for jazz/fusion/rock and Paul would now like to play in a band that does nothing but Steely Dan cover tunes. Wouldn’t we all?

Paul is a student of his chosen instrument and takes his craft very seriously. Paul started playing the bass as a freshman in high school after many years of piano lessons (he always favored the bass clef) and a dalliance with the trumpet in marching band. With his bass awakening, Paul realized an intense interest in music that was previously lacking.

Paul has anchored many top 40's bands and numerous variety bar bands playing rock, pop and country. Trading classic rock for strictly classic, he even tried a short stint with the Southeast Iowa Symphony at their pops concerts. Previous bands of renown include Bandit, Bittersweet Garage Band, Midnite Express and Razin' Kane.

Paul plays Tobias, Gibson, Carvin and Peavey basses through a David Eden amp and several effects pedals. In the past, Paul has also been seen playing keyboard backing Dick on a couple of songs when Dick didn't have enough hands to play all the parts. Those piano lessons weren’t a total waste.

Paul is married to Sally and in his OTHER spare time he enjoys riding his Harley and Buell motorcycles and playing with the grandsons.
